The New Entered Apprentice
My name is John C. Green and I am honoured to have been chosen as the Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario. I congratulate you on becoming a member of our ancient and honourable society. "Ancient, as having existed from time immemorial, and honourable because by a natural tendency it conduces to make all those honourable who are strictly obedient to its precepts." (Book of the Work)
When I am addressed by my title, it is Most Worshipful Sir or Most Worshipful Brother Green.
You have taken your first step in Masonry and probably have a number of questions about the ceremony/degree that you went through. You might be tempted to use Google or some other search engine to hunt the internet for information on Masonry and your first degree. Unfortunately, there is a great deal of misinformation on the internet about our Craft. In the last presentation/charge you received at your initiation, it was suggested to you that "without neglecting the ordinary duties of your station to consider yourself called upon to make a daily advancement in Masonic knowledge". (Book of the Work)
This portion of the Grand Lodge website has been created for you, the new mason:
1. To guide you through a succession of material which will help to answer many of the questions you may have as well as provide you with greater details about Masonry.
2. To Provide you with a directory of articles which you can explore at your leisure.
IT IS NOT meant in any way to take the place of the mentor from your Lodge. In fact, it is hoped that the material contained here will assist both of you and your mentor as you proceed along your joint Masonic journey.
This portion of the website was designed to be responsive so while some portions of the website may be better looked at using a large screen, you will be able to use your smartphone or tablet to access most of the information contained here.
